Hurricane Ian Update

Tuesday, September 27 at 4 pm
Dear Residents, Members, Patrons, and Friends,
The 2:00 pm NOAA update puts Hurricane Ian approximately 265 miles south of Sarasota and 85 miles south-southwest of the Dry Tortugas. It is moving north at approximately 10mph with sustained winds of 120mph. It is expected to make landfall on Wednesday evening, just south of Tampa, as a Category 3 hurricane, however, the outer bands of the storm are expected as early as Tuesday evening and at random intervals on Wednesday. By Thursday evening, the hurricane will have moved through much of Central Florida with lingering storms remaining. Friday will see trailing rains into the afternoon. Saturday and Sunday are projected to see perfect weather as is typical behind a hurricane.
Of course, the next NOAA update is at 8 pm so please watch for updates. This information may change.
Your Cypress Cove engineering team has been hard at work securing the resort over the past 24 hours. We will continue preparations into tomorrow afternoon.
Please consider and plan for the following closures:
• Cheeks Bar and Grill will open for breakfast as usual. It will close after lunch on Wednesday, September 28th at 1:00 pm.
• The pool complex, including the Clubhouse and all buildings within the white fence will be closed at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, September 28th.
• The front office and main gate will close at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, September 28th. In accordance with the directives of emergency services, the gate arms will be removed at that time allowing the free flow of service vehicles. THE GATE WILL NOT BE STAFFED AT THAT TIME. In the event of an emergency, please dial 911.
All facilities will open for business on Friday morning, September 30th. Please bear in mind, environmental conditions may require additional closures for lack of power or excessive fallen debris. Know that we are prepared to handle everything (within our power) to return the park to pre-hurricane condition as quickly as possible.
Most importantly, please look out for your neighbor. The next few days will be trying, but we will make it through Hurricane Ian together... and God willing, partake in a cocktail (or two) by the pool this weekend.

Naked Astronomy - DATE CORRECTION!
Naked Astronomy will be doing a presentation on October 2nd at 11 am in the Clubhouse. Naked Astronomy brings the science of astronomy and the pleasure of stargazing to you. Join us to find out What's Up in the sky this month, learn the constellations, get updates on current space missions, and more. See you there!
Fall Craft Fair
It's that time of year when you start to see pumpkin spice everything and the weather starts to turn cool. Our crafters are getting an earlier start this year. Join us for the Fall craft fair happening on October 8 from 9 am to 2 pm. Come out and support your fellow nudists.
Blind Creek Beach Charter Bus
A group of Cove residents and members is chartering a big luxury motorcoach to take up to 50 Cove beach-lovers to and from Blind Creek Beach on Sunday, October 16, 2022, a week before Nude-a-Palooza, for a day of sun, sand, surf, and fun. The beach is awesome and the ocean will be super nice after warming up for us all summer long. Tickets are just $42.50 each, and you can bring as much stuff as you like to the beach, and not worry about tolls, parking, high gas prices, or traffic.

In the Fall of 2013, The Cove Singers were enjoying making beautiful harmonies.
In the Fall of 2014, the major remodeling of the villas was started.
In the Fall of 2015, the roof of the office was replaced.
In the Fall of 2016, the duct tape dance & party was a fun event.
In the Fall of 2017, the Cove staff was busy cleaning up from Hurricane Irma. There was very little damage to Cypress Cove.
In the Fall of 2018, volleyball on the sun lawn was a great way to get exercise and make friends on a fall weekend.
In the Fall of 2019, the inflatable waterslide was a big hit with the young and young at heart.
In the Fall of 2020, bike riding continues to be a very popular way to get exercise and enjoy safety or the quiet streets of Cypress Cove.
In the Fall of 2021, Halloween decorations set the mood for a fun evening at the pool.
And now, in the Fall of 2022, the topical colors have added so much to the ambiance to the West Pool.
