Dear Friends of Cypress Cove,
As Hurricane Milton approaches, I want to reach out to let you know we’re doing everything possible to keep you safe and informed during the coming days. The next 24 hours are going to be challenging, but our close-knit community has always shown resilience, and I’m confident that with your cooperation and the dedication of our team, we’ll get through this together.
The storm has slowed down a bit, which means the severe weather will likely hit later than we first thought. We’ve been closely monitoring updates, and WESH2 (which I've been following) has been doing a great job covering the storm’s path. You can check out their latest reports here: https://www.wesh.com/. Just remember, things can change quickly, so please stay alert.
Please note these operational adjustments:
- Front Office: We’ll be closing at 2 pm on Wednesday and will stay closed through Thursday. We plan to reopen on Friday at 8 am. Please understand that during this time, our phones won’t be staffed, so for any emergencies, reach out to local first responders.
- Front Gate & Pool Complex: These areas will follow the same schedule as the front office. The pool will be locked for safety, and the front gate arms will be removed allowing free ingress and egress of emergency traffic.
- Cheeks Bar & Grill: We’ll close at 1 pm on Wednesday to give our staff time to get home safely, and we plan to reopen for breakfast on Friday.
- Housekeeping: Our team will be working Wednesday morning, but after 2 pm, they’ll be off-duty. Regular service will pick back up on Friday.
- Engineering: We’ll have our team on hand through 2 pm Wednesday, and certain staff members will remain onsite during the storm. They will not be able to respond during the hurricane. Please have an emergency plan available, and contact first responders if you are in imminent need of assistance.
Additional adjustments may be necessary depending on the resources available to us after the hurricane passes. One large hurdle will be power.
I know these situations can be stressful. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me or any of our department heads before we close. I’m confident in the preparations we’ve made, and we’ll be ready to bounce back quickly after the storm passes.
Stay safe, make smart choices, and remember we’re all in this together. I look forward to seeing you once the skies clear.
Many thanks,
Peter Sewall

Cheers to the return of Beer Fest at Cypress Cove! Mark your calendars for October 11-13 as we celebrate a weekend filled with craft beer and lively discussions.
Kick things off on Friday at 7 PM at Scuttlebutts with a Home Brewing Discussion led by Dave, where he'll share his expertise on brewing your own beer. Plus, stay tuned for an exciting announcement about next year’s Beer Fest—you won’t want to miss it!
Then, on Saturday at 4 PM, join us again at Scuttlebutts as Crooked Can Brewery hosts a special craft beer talk. It’s going to be a brew-tiful weekend!
Prepare your taste buds for a heartwarming and delicious event! Our beloved bartender, Herman, is back with his famous annual cheesecake bake sale, supporting a cause close to our hearts. Join us on Saturday, October 12, from Noon to 4 PM in the Gameroom, where Herman will showcase his homemade, mouthwatering cheesecakes.
Herman has been hard at work, creating a variety of irresistible cheesecakes, each made from scratch with love. Whether you're a fan of classic flavors or looking to try something new, there's a cheesecake for everyone! While cash is preferred, you can also charge your Cove account for convenience.
This year, Herman has upped the excitement by organizing a fantastic raffle, featuring amazing prizes like a TV, shirts, bags, and more! Best of all, every dollar raised from the cheesecake sales and raffle will go directly to Florida Cancer Specialists of Florida, making your indulgence even sweeter. Raffle tickets can be purchased directly from Cheeks Bar. Make sure to write your name and phone number on the back of the ticket and drop it in the ticket box at Cheeks.
Want to help out? If you'd like to contribute a raffle item, reach out to Herman at Cheeks. Every donation, big or small, will help support breast cancer awareness and research.
Don’t miss out on this special day filled with love, hope, and cheesecake! Join us on October 12 and help make a difference at Cypress Cove’s annual charity cheesecake bake sale. We can’t wait to see you there!
Join us at Cypress Cove Nudist Resort on October 19 for the most exciting event of the year!
