Blessings of the Cove
As we approach the close of another year and enter the season of gratitude and giving, Cypress Cove is pleased to re-introduce a cherished tradition: the “Blessings of The Cove.” This holiday initiative is dedicated to supporting those in our nudist family facing the greatest needs during these challenging times.
Through the end of the year, Cypress Cove residents and members are invited to reach out and share how we can best support you. If you’re in need, please write to us and let us know what would bring the most relief or joy to your holiday season. Each week, we’ll select a letter and respond with assistance. You can either drop off a letter at the Main Office, addressed to me, Peter Sewall, or email me at Peter@cypresscoveresort.com.
Cypress Cove has a rich history of community support, driven by our naturist members who have fueled our growth and success over the years. This season, our focus is on those “inside the gate,” as we aim to brighten the holidays for our own members. We know it can be difficult to ask for help, but please don’t hesitate to let us know if you have an exceptional need.
For those who are not in need, we invite you to extend your support to your friends and neighbors in the spirit of generosity that defines our community. Veterans Day Tribute
On Saturday, November 9, we warmly invite you to join us in commemorating Veterans Day at Cypress Cove Nudist Resort. This special event is dedicated to honoring veterans, their cherished family members, and all those who hold the Armed Services close to their hearts.
Please gather with us at 4:00 pm by the flagpole for a heartfelt tribute to the valiant individuals who have selflessly served in the United States Armed Forces. Cypress Cove’s Veterans Day presentation promises to be an unforgettable celebration, shining a well-deserved spotlight on the men and women who have made incredible sacrifices for our nation.
Following the tribute, join us on the deck of Lakeside at 4:30 pm for a casual wine and cheese reception, where we can continue our reflections and conversations in honor of our veterans.
As we embark on the season of Thanksgiving, let us begin by expressing our profound gratitude to these heroic members of our military. Your presence and support would mean so much as we come together to honor their dedication and service.

Carolyn's Retirement Party
Carolyn's Retirement Extravaganza on Friday, November 1st, was a heartfelt tribute to her remarkable career. Friends, family, and colleagues gathered to celebrate Carolyn's years of dedication and the lasting impact she's had on the naturist community. General Manager Peter Sewall delivered a moving speech, expressing admiration and gratitude for her contributions, while Owner Ted Hadley shared a few words and a funny story that had everyone laughing, capturing Carolyn's sense of humor and spirit.
In a memorable highlight, she was presented with a commemorative gift, symbolizing her elegance and timeless influence. In keeping with resort tradition, Carolyn was also presented with a beautifully framed, professional photo of the resort—a lasting memento of her years spent making it a special place. And, of course, the evening wouldn’t have been complete without a touching serenade of “Sweet Carolyn” by her favorite character, bringing joy and emotion to the room.

12th Annual Cove Turkey Smash Pickleball Tournament
Get ready for three days of pickleball excitement at the 12th Annual Cove Turkey Smash Pickleball Tournament, happening November 8-10, 2024!
The fun kicks off on Friday, November 8, at 1:30 p.m. with a casual 90-minute pickleball event, perfect for warming up and meeting fellow players. No partner is needed—everyone is welcome to join! Stick around for the courtside Happy Hour starting at 3:00 p.m.
On Saturday, the competition heats up with Men’s and Ladies’ Doubles tournaments. Teams can compete at the “A,” “B,” and “Open” skill levels. Sunday wraps up the weekend with Mixed Doubles matches at the same skill levels, followed by the tournament raffle at noon.
There’s no pre-registration—just arrive on time with your partner and get ready to play! Registration is free for Cove Pickleball Club members, and non-members can easily join at CovePickleballClub.com.

Garage Sale
Join us for the Cypress Cove Nudist Resort Community Garage Sale on Sunday, November 10th, starting at 8 am! Find hidden treasures in your favorite naturist community. Whether you're a resident or just passing by, everyone is welcome to explore our fantastic selection of pre-loved items. Day Fees will apply for non-members, so come ready to enjoy the day! Don't miss this unique opportunity to shop, socialize, and soak up the sun at Cypress Cove.
Lake Brown Chili Cook-Off
Join us on Saturday, November 16, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Cornhole Court for the Lake Brown Chili Cook-Off, an exciting event to benefit the fish of Lake Brown. Bring your own beverage and come hungry as we showcase the best chili recipes from the community. Sample entries for just $1 each, or enjoy a full bowl for $5 after 1 PM. Desserts will also be available for $2. All votes must be cast by 1 PM, and the winner, who will take home a $100 prize, will be announced at 1:30 PM.
If you'd like to compete, the entry fee is $10, and you must sign up by Friday, November 15. To enter, contact Mike at 812-291-0006 via text or call, or visit him at 545 Red Fox Run. Additionally, dessert donations are welcome—please reach out to Susan at 812-291-0007 if you'd like to contribute. Come support the cause, vote for your favorite chili, and help us keep the fish of Lake Brown well-fed!
Driver Safety Course
Join us for the AARP Driver Safety class on Saturday, November 23rd, from 9 AM to 4 PM in the Clubhouse. This course is perfect for brushing up on your driving skills, learning crash-avoidance techniques, and even qualifying for a discount on your auto insurance!
How to Register:

- Attendance is limited to 20 participants, so reserve your spot early!
What to Bring:
- A check (no cash) made payable to AARP: $20 for AARP members (with membership card) or $25 for non-members.

Each year, as the holiday season arrives, our front desk transforms into a heartwarming display of gratitude, filled with gifts thoughtfully given by our wonderful members, guests, and residents—a beautiful tradition that reflects your appreciation for our dedicated staff! The highlight of this season is our annual holiday party, where the grand unveiling of these gifts takes center stage, a moment our staff eagerly anticipates.
This year, employees will gather for a memorable celebration on December 11th at Lakeside restaurant, a perfect setting to share in the holiday spirit and exchange gifts, along with some special Cove treats. For those here at Cypress Cove, our front office is delighted to accept your tokens of appreciation, and we encourage you to include a personal note for the recipient. This tradition complements the annual bonuses Cypress Cove provides to our amazing staff, giving you a chance to show your gratitude to those who go above and beyond to make your visits special.

In November 2013, we celebrated November 11th with a display of Cove members who had served in the armed forces.
In November 2014, the 50'd Party was a fun event.
In November 2015, one of our snowbird couples entertained at the pool. It is a huge commitment to bring a full-size standup bass with you on vacation.
In November 2016, the Cove installed a new heating unit for the west pool.
In November 2017, the gangster party was well attended by these well-dressed fellows.
In November 2018, a fun beach party with a Taste of Love.
In November 2019, the Pétanque Tournament was a fun event.
In November 2020, Santa Claus spent a few days at Cypress Cove before his busy season.
In November 2021, the first Lake Brown Chili Cook-Off to benefit the fish of Lake Brown took place.
In November 2022, this "real" Firehouse Chili was a crowd favorite.
In November 2023, many beautiful "Thanksgiving" decorations made a ride around the Cove even more fun.
