Blessings of the Cove
As we approach the close of another year and enter the season of gratitude and giving, Cypress Cove is pleased to re-introduce a cherished tradition: the “Blessings of The Cove.” This holiday initiative is dedicated to supporting those in our nudist family facing the greatest needs during these challenging times.
Through the end of the year, Cypress Cove residents and members are invited to reach out and share how we can best support you. If you’re in need, please write to us and let us know what would bring the most relief or joy to your holiday season. Each week, we’ll select a letter and respond with assistance. You can either drop off a letter at the Main Office, addressed to me, Peter Sewall, or email me at Peter@cypresscoveresort.com.
Cypress Cove has a rich history of community support, driven by our naturist members who have fueled our growth and success over the years. This season, our focus is on those “inside the gate,” as we aim to brighten the holidays for our own members. We know it can be difficult to ask for help, but please don’t hesitate to let us know if you have an exceptional need.
For those who are not in need, we invite you to extend your support to your friends and neighbors in the spirit of generosity that defines our community. Blessing of the Cove Recipient
We received this letter from Andrew asking for a blessing in the aftermath of Hurricane Milton:
Hey Blessing of the Cove Team,
I'm Andrew, and I've been a member of Cypress Cove for a long time. The Cove has always been a special place for me, and right now, I really need that support.
I’m reaching out because my family and I were hit really hard by Hurricane Milton. We had to leave our home and head to the shelter, and we lost almost everything. It’s been tough losing so much, including the feeling of peace in our home.
We’re trying to rebuild, but it’s been hard. There’s a lot of work ahead, and it’s really stressful, both financially and emotionally. We’re safe now, but it’s still tough.
I’d be super grateful if the community at Cypress Cove could send some blessings our way for our home and for strength while we rebuild. We need hope, prayers, and some good vibes to help us through all this.

Bodypainting Meet-Up
Come experience an exciting Body Painting Meetup this Saturday, November 16, 2024! Wander through the studio as talented painters work their magic on their models, with doors opening for spectators at 5:30 pm in the Clubhouse. At 9 pm, the models will strut their stuff on the runway, showcasing the stunning artwork at the West Pool. After the show, stick around to mingle with the artists and models, and enjoy a drink at Cheeks starting at 9:30 pm. Don’t miss out on this vibrant evening!
Lake Brown Chili Cook-Off
Join us on Saturday, November 16, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Cornhole Court for the Lake Brown Chili Cook-Off, an exciting event to benefit the fish of Lake Brown. Bring your own beverage and come hungry as we showcase the best chili recipes from the community. Sample entries for just $1 each, or enjoy a full bowl for $5 after 1 PM. Desserts will also be available for $2. All votes must be cast by 1 PM, and the winner, who will take home a $100 prize, will be announced at 1:30 PM.
If you'd like to compete, the entry fee is $10, and you must sign up by Friday, November 15. To enter, contact Mike at 812-291-0006 via text or call, or visit him at 545 Red Fox Run. Additionally, dessert donations are welcome—please reach out to Susan at 812-291-0007 if you'd like to contribute. Come support the cause, vote for your favorite chili, and help us keep the fish of Lake Brown well-fed!
Driver Safety Course
Join us for the AARP Driver Safety class on Saturday, November 23rd, from 9 AM to 4 PM in the Clubhouse. This course is perfect for brushing up on your driving skills, learning crash-avoidance techniques, and even qualifying for a discount on your auto insurance!
How to Register:
- Email Regis at Regis@CypressCoveResort.com or sign up on the sheet posted at Regis' Activities Office door
- Attendance is limited to 20 participants, so reserve your spot early!
What to Bring:
- A check (no cash) made payable to AARP: $20 for AARP members (with membership card) or $25 for non-members.
- Your driver’s license.

Each year, as the holiday season arrives, our front desk transforms into a heartwarming display of gratitude, filled with gifts thoughtfully given by our wonderful members, guests, and residents—a beautiful tradition that reflects your appreciation for our dedicated staff! The highlight of this season is our annual holiday party, where the grand unveiling of these gifts takes center stage, a moment our staff eagerly anticipates.
This year, employees will gather for a memorable celebration on December 11th at Lakeside restaurant, a perfect setting to share in the holiday spirit and exchange gifts, along with some special Cove treats. For those here at Cypress Cove, our front office is delighted to accept your tokens of appreciation, and we encourage you to include a personal note for the recipient. This tradition complements the annual bonuses Cypress Cove provides to our amazing staff, giving you a chance to show your gratitude to those who go above and beyond to make your visits special.

The Cove Family and Friends Holiday Show
Coming for one night only, The Cove Family & Friends Christmas Show is set for Saturday, December 14, 2024, from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm! This festive evening will be a memorable gathering of friends and neighbors as the Cove’s talented community brings the holiday spirit to life through singing, dancing, and delightful performances. Lakeside Restaurant will open early at 5 PM for dinner, so be sure to make your reservations in advance and come hungry!
At the end of the show, if you’ve been especially good this year, you’ll have the chance to take a photo with Santa and Mrs. Claus. Bring your camera, as we’ll keep the holiday music going for a bit of dancing while you wait your turn. We kindly ask that no photos or videos be taken during the performance so everyone can enjoy the show without distractions. The cast is thrilled to welcome you to the Cove’s first-ever Family & Friends Christmas Show — don’t miss out on this special holiday celebration!
