Blessings of the Cove
As we round the bend capping off yet another year, we are about to enter a season of gratitude and giving. It is in this spirit that Cypress Cove would like to re-introduce a Holiday countdown of sorts, affectionately dubbed “Blessings of The Cove”— a period of supporting those in our nudist family who have the greatest need in consideration of trying times.
Through the end of the year, we are inviting Cypress Cove residents and members to write to us and tell us of your need. What do you think would help you most during this difficult time? Each week, we will choose a letter and will respond with assistance and support. You can either drop off a letter to the Main Office, care of Peter Sewall or email Peter at CoveBlessings@cypresscoveresort.com.
Cypress Cove has enjoyed a long history of community support both participating in and spearheading, various events ranging in size and reach. It is the members of our naturist community that have enabled growth and success through the years. As such, we thought it was important to finish the year with full focus on this community—those of you “inside the gate.” It can be hard to ask for help, but please let us know if you have an exceptional need. It is our goal to make your holiday season a little bit brighter.
We already know that the Cypress Cove nudist community has a big heart and a philanthropic spirit, so we’d encourage those of you who are not in need to lend support to your friends and neighbors during this time. If you'd like to help us expand our efforts, you may do so at this link; simply select Blessings of The Cove Donation. We want “Blessings of The Cove” to spill over into all corners of our amazing community.

Blessing of the Cove Nomination & Recipient
If you know someone within our midst who might be facing challenging times and could benefit from a bit of extra support, we encourage you to nominate them for the Blessings of The Cove initiative.
Your nominations play a pivotal role in strengthening the bonds of care and compassion within our community. Whether it's a friend, a neighbor, or someone you've come to know over the years, your gesture can make a significant impact on their journey. This email was sent to us over the weekend.

It is with a sense of both vulnerability and hope that I share the journey of our daughter, for your consideration in the Blessings of The Cove initiative. If her situation does not align with the criteria, we respect your discretion.
In 2021, She was diagnosed with Lyme disease, a journey marred by misdiagnoses, improper medication, and unwarranted accusations. This challenging period unfolded during her 40th birthday, making it an especially trying summer.
Post-COVID, health struggles persisted, leading to a fall 2022 neurological consult and MRI, revealing a 2cm tumor nestled between the brain stem and the left side of her brain. Miraculously, she displayed no symptoms until early 2023 when the tumor had grown. Only five neurosurgical units in the country were willing to attempt the surgery.
On September 26, the Emory University Hospital neurosurgical team performed a 10 ½ hour surgery, successfully removing the tumor without symptoms. Her journey toward recovery involves overcoming facial paralysis, sight loss, hearing impairment, and cognitive challenges, with a projected healing time of two years.
Financial strains have added to her burdens, with her being off payroll since the summer, sporadic child support, and ongoing household expenses. Despite the incredible support from her teaching community, the toll on her emotional and financial well-being is undeniable.
Recognizing herself as a walking miracle, she was back at school, resuming her responsibilities only nine weeks after her invasive surgery. However, the road to recovery, both emotionally and financially, remains arduous, challenging her pride as she navigates the complexities of seeking assistance.
We submit this nomination with utmost respect and appreciation for the compassion that defines the Cypress Cove community. Her deep ties to the Cove date back to the mid-80s, when she, along with her sister, found a second family among their Cove friends. The friendships forged during those years have endured, proving to be a source of strength and support.
Thank you for considering her for Blessings of The Cove. Your support has the potential to make a meaningful difference in her ongoing journey toward recovery.

First and foremost, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to you for sharing your daughter's journey with us. Her resilience and strength are truly inspiring, and we are deeply moved by her story.
