RC Yacht Club Power Boats

April 30th, 2007

The Cypress Cove Remote Control Yacht Club has been sailing one meter solings on Brown Lake for almost 7 years. The club has grown to over 60 members with 35 solings, lots of power boats and of course the Cove balloon boats.

Yacht_Club_Balloon.JPGWe have decided to put more emphasis on the powerboat events this year. There are two classes of powerboats: Cove-1 (balloon boat) and Cove-2 (electric power boats). Our Powerboat Captain Dave has a number of interesting events planned for the 2nd Sunday of each month at 1 pm. The various games will put the emphasis on driving skill not speed, therefore many sizes and styles of boats should be able to enjoy the fun together.

Yacht_Club_Power.JPGBy the way, this is a family activity with both women and men captains enjoying the fun. So come on down to the waterfront for the Powerboat events on the 2nd Sunday of each month at 1 pm. Non-members are welcome to bring their boats. Sailing will continue through the summer months on the 1st, 3rd & 5th Sunday of the month.
