It’s that time of year again when we must say goodbye to all our friends from up north as they make the long trip back home. To honor this occasion, we are planning a great weekend full of fun just for all of our fabulous snowbirds.
On Friday night we will be hosting our fun new game show, Super Mega Trivia 3000, for you to play one last time before the season ends.
Enjoy the 3 Person Best Ball Golf Scramble, Saturday morning at 9:30 am. Registration is just $8 for members and $10 for non-members. They will have plenty of hot dogs, beer & soft drinks. Pot luck contributions are also welcome.
On Saturday evening, we are throwing a special Goodbye Snowbirds Party so you can come down and say goodbye to all your friends until next year. Have dinner and dance the night away to the sounds of DJ Glenn Mitchell, as he plays all of your old favorites. It’s great end to the winter season down here at Cypress Cove.
We look forward to seeing you there!

Cypress Cove is giving one lucky winner 30 nights in a Villa Apartment as part of an effort to raise funds for the American Nudist Research Library’s digitizing project. The Library houses a vast and comprehensive collection of nudist material. Much of it is decades old and some of it is very fragile. In an effort to secure and preserve this material, the Library has decided to digitize their entire collection. It will be a challenging and costly process, so funds need to be raised.
Donations made to this project will be rewarded with one entry per $5 of donation. All donations are tax deductible. The drawing will be held Friday, November 9th, at the Library. The winner will receive 30 nights stay in a Villa Apartment at Cypress Cove. The prize may be broken up into smaller stays of not less than 3 nights each, and may even be given away to friends or a home club. Also included are up to 30 days golf cart rental from D & R Golf Cart Emporium (based on availability), as well as coupons for Nature Hair, the Silver Lining Massage, the Figleaf Boutique, and the Lakeside Restaurant. In total, this is a prize package worth in excess of $4000.
Look in this month’s AANR Bulletin for more details. There is a full story and an entry form. We will have entry forms available at the Office. Or, you can print one from here (requires adobe acrobat reader). Good luck!

Plan now to attend our big St. Patrick’s Day Party, Mar 17th. The good times start on Friday night with Super Mega Trivia 3000, the game show everyone, including the audience, gets to play. The champion of the night wins a free one night stay in our hotel!
Saturday is a busy morning. First is the Cove-Wide Garage Sale starting at 8 am. Tennis fans won’t want to miss the St. Paddy’s Day Weekend Green vs. Orange Fun Tennis Tournament, starting at 9:30 am. Also on Saturday morning, we are offering a Ukulele Class at 10 am.
On Saturday night, we are lucky enough to have the authentic Irish sounds of Celtic Echoes featuring Billy Finnegan, coming from Ireland once again this year. This band will really get you in the spirit. The restaurant will also be serving great Irish cuisine for you to enjoy during the show, so you can eat, dance and enjoy a few drinks all at the same time. Seating in the dining room will not be available until 9 pm for non-diners because we are expecting a lot of reservations.
Get your green on and head on over to Cypress Cove for a great weekend you won’t soon forget!

The Cabanas at the West Pool have all been re-roofed and are looking good. The Cabanas were damaged a bit in the hurricanes of 2004. They were functional, but missing shingles and such. Now, they have been completely re-roofed and look better than new. The Cabanas are now fully open for use, as is the pool area in general.
Matt has completed installing the tin fence at the garden. It is dark green and blends well into the background. This is the same fencing that will be going up on the northern boundary of the campground. Matt is already replacing the poles whenever possible. We will probably replace the tin towards the end of April when sites are more open.
Tennis courts 3 & 4 should be finished being repaired and resurfaced today. It will take a couple of days to cure, but the courts will be ready to play by Saturday morning for the big tournament. Feel free to stop by and have a look, just don’t walk on it yet!
