October 20th, 2006
Plans are under way to build a $15 million shopping center on a 16-acre site in Poinciana, developers announced Thursday.
The Mediterranean-style center will feature nine buildings and more than 100,000 square feet of retail space. It will be fronting Wal-Mart, Winn-Dixie and more than 70 other shops, businesses and restaurants that operate in Poinciana Town Center — the retail hub and social center of the Poinciana community being developed by Avatar Properties Inc.
… Developers say that Pollo Tropical, Wendy’s and Panda Express restaurants have committed to three free-standing sites fronting Cypress Parkway. Also, they say Dollar Tree, Hibbett Sports, Cato women’s fashions, Sherwin Williams paints, Payless Shoe Source, Amscot Financial Services, Sally Beauty and GameStop have committed to space in two other buildings.
Cypress Plaza is expected to open for business in fall 2007.
