Barbara’s Famous B-54 Jello Shots
September 28th, 2006
By popular request, Barbara has agreed to share the recipes for a couple of her most popular concoctions. These recipes are very tasty, but fairly light on the alcohol. If you prefer a stronger shot, you can experiment with adding a bit more alcohol and a bit less of the filler, in this case, milk.
½ cup Toasted Almond Coffee Mate
½ cup cold milk
1 envelope Knox unflavored gelatin
1/6 cup Bailey’s Irish Cream
1/6 cup Kahlua
!/6 cup Amaretto
½ cup cold milk (yes, more milk)
Combine the Coffee Mate, ½ cup of milk and the Knox gelatin. Whisk well and let stand for three minutes. Place pan over medium heat, bringing it to a boil while whisking frequently. Set pan aside to cool for ten minutes. Add the Bailey’s Kahlua and Amaretto and ½ cup of milk. Whisk well, pour into small serving cups and chill until firm.
Next time … “Cult of the Minthe”.
