Coupon Clippers Meeting
Thursday, August 7th
For several years we have been collecting, cutting and shipping coupons to military bases so families can cut expenses when shopping at base commissaries. Families have been able to stretch their income using these coupons. Right now we could use a few more "cutters". If anyone can spare two hours, we will be meeting on the first Thursday of each month from 1 pm to 3 pm. Bring scissors and meet us in the Terrace, by the Cove office.
If you have any questions, please call Carolyn Strack at 407-932-0268. THANK YOU.
Full Moon Gathering
Sunday, August 10th
Full Moon Gathering at 8:00 pm.
It is that time of month for our full moon gathering on the shores of Brown Lake at Cypress Cove. Bring a musical instrument if you desire, a libation of your choice and a desire to see mother nature at her best.
Please come early to get set up and help start our campfire. Usually wood is left by the pit however if you have dry wood to contribute it would make it easier to get the fire going to provide the atmosphere that helps make our gathering special.
Sturgeon Moon – August
The fishing tribes are given credit for the naming of this Moon, since sturgeon, a large fish of the Great Lakes and other major bodies of water, were most readily caught during this month. A few tribes knew it as the Full Red Moon because, as the Moon rises, it appears reddish through any sultry haze. It was also called the Green Corn Moon or Grain Moon.
World's First Clothing-Optional Stand Up Paddleboard Race
Saturday, September 6th
Cypress Cove will host the world’s first clothing-optional stand-up paddleboard race on Saturday, Sept. 6 at 9:15 a.m.
Athletes will compete in “The Nude SUP Challenge,” a four-loop, flatwater race around Cypress Cove’s 50-acre Brown Lake for a total of roughly four miles. Like other SUP events, three-deep awards will be given to male and female finishers in three categories: stockboards, 12’6” raceboards and 14-foot boards. Athletes need not compete in the nude but the first overall male and female finishers will be crowned the World Champions of Nude SUP.
Though the event is not affiliated with Surf Expo, the Nude SUP Challenge will coincide with the popular surf/SUP convention, which is expected to draw more than 30,000 people to the Orange County (Fla.) Convention Center from Sept. 4-6. The Cypress Cove Resort is a 30-minute drive from the convention center.
Stand-up paddleboarding is one of America’s fastest-growing sports, attracting outdoor enthusiasts and those looking for an enjoyable workout that combines the best of cardio and core conditioning.
The Nude SUP Challenge is produced by Enterprise Media LLC, which since 2010 has produced clothing-optional 5K races at Central Florida nudist resorts, including the fourth-annual Streak the Cove 5K, which will be held at Cypress Cove on Sept. 28.
Registration for The Nude SUP Challenge is available at www.supnude.com. Further information is available at www.nuderaces.com.

News from Ted
Parrothead Weekend, it just gets better and better. We had a wonderful crowd last weekend. Tons of people, but everyone in a great mood and having a great time.
If you haven't been able to get to Parrothead because it's always sold out, I have a tip for you: Get on the waiting list, keep your contact info updated, and don't make other plans. Every year, all of our rooms are booked at least a year in advance. HOWEVER, with all of those reservations booked so far in advance, we always end up with some cancellations at the last minute. We go to the waiting list, but most don't answer and those that do have usually made other plans. If you go on the waiting list and keep in touch with us (especially during that last month before), you are very likely to get a room.
Missed last weekend? Don't worry about. Come down Saturday night for our annual Toga Party. Togas are just about the easiest costume you can make, aside from a ghost, but at least you don't have to cut out eye holes. :)
We've got Karaoke w/ Roland & Melanie on Thursday night, a Streak at Cheeks w/ DJ Shawn on Friday, a Pool Party in the afternoon and the Toga Party & Costume Contest w/ DJ Xavier on Saturday night, and finally relax with Live Music by the Pool w/ Jon on Sunday.
Building 5 is closed for renovation. Yay!
Around the Cove this week:
Anniversary Banner by the West Pool, still there if you want to sign it!
This dedicated crew raised $10,457 in total which will be donated to the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer. That's amazing and another new record. Just look at the work that went into putting together all of those great gift baskets. Nudists care!

We've got our "Ask Me About Cypress Cove" T-shirts back in stock!
They are priced at just $5 each, so we are not making any money on the shirts. We are just hoping to spark some word of mouth marketing. Wear it to town, to the grocery store; just wear it while you are out and about.
So if you are a proud Cypress Cove member and want to help spread the word, please pick up your new t-shirt today! - Thank you
One of our members in Salem, notice the Bewitched statue? :)
Where have you worn your "Ask Me About Cypress Cove" T-shirt?

Someone suggested that we create a page on our website going into a bit more detail on our various classes and activities. If you are responsible for one of the scheduled classes or activities, please email me a brief description. One sentence would be okay, more if needed, but just a summary for new visitors. I'm thinking of everything from bingo to exercises to petanque. Thank you in advance!
Regis handles activities, but I put together the weekly newsletter. I'm always looking for content. If you have anything that you would like to see in the newsletter, please email submissions to email@example.com.
We received some very nice new reviews on TripAdvisor. Thank you! If you would like to help spread the word, you can review us using the link below.
